Would you vote against the 2nd Amendment?

There's only one 2nd Amendment candidate in this race. Below you will find my 2nd Amendment stand, direct from my platform.

If you vote straight party Republican - you are voting against me, you are voting for a Democrat, and you are voting against the 2nd Amendment.

Don't vote straight party!

Just walk through the ballot and vote for whomever you wish, but when it comes to Sheriff - vote for me!

2nd Amendment

I support the Constitution and all its Amendments, including the 2nd.

I do not think it should be necessary to get a permit to exercise your second amendment rights. If the government has some reason to think you should not be allowed to carry a gun, it is up to the government to make its case in a court of law.

It would be useful for Iowa to issue optional permits, in order for you to carry your gun in other, less enlightened states. This is a service to you and I would be OK with charging you a fee, to cover the costs of processing that optional permit (but not more than that).

We should also consider gun safety training as a normal part of a school's curriculum. Hopefully this would reduce accidental shootings by children with less than responsible parents. This would not be mandatory – I am not much of a fan of things the government says you have to do – so parents who didn't want their children to know how to safely handle guns could opt out.

That's where I stand on the 2nd amendment.

The time is now. The job is ours. We can do it.

I need your vote on November 8th.
